What is this all about?
The
Indian-Celina Challenge is a Half (13.1 miles) and Full Marathon
(26.2 miles) race that takes place on unforgiving trails in Southern
Indiana. While there are other trail races in our area during the
year, we challenge you to find another race in a 150 mile radius that has
the elevation gain experienced here. If you are up for
a challenge, then come and experience the beautiful scenery and
harsh hills that we offer.
When will it take place?
The race
will be on
Saturday, June 14th - 2008 at 6:30 am.
While many would expect the weather to be treacherous this time of
year, the average low is 63° (race time) and the high is 83° (around
2:30). Also realize that 95% of the race course is shaded from the
forest.
What is the course like and how is it setup?
To find
out more information on the course (logistics, elevation charts,
course maps, etc.) please

Since the race starts so early, where can I stay the night before?
There
are 3 towns within 25 minutes that have places to stay the night
before. Tell City is 15 minutes to the south, Ferdinand is 15
minutes to the west, and Corydon is 25 minutes to the east.
People coming from the north (Indianapolis) can find lodging in
French Lick which is about 45 minutes to the north. Depending
on which direction you are coming from, any of these towns will
suffice. We apologize for not having lodging that is closer -
but then again, this takes place in the Hoosier National Forest.
There
are also campsites available at the Lakes. For more
information about all of these options, please
When is the registration window?
Registration for this race can occur between January 10th and June
6th. After June 6th, there will be no registration.
As a
special notice
::: Registration will be limited to the
first
125 runners
(Half/Full combined). This is the first year for this race,
and while we would love to have more, we do not want to sacrifice
putting on a quality race for those who participate.
Who should compete in this race?
Anybody
who is physically ready for this challenge and ready to push
themselves to the limit. As stated, this is a tough race.
The race will be on trails littered with small rocks, leaves, and
roots.
Only runners who have experience running on true trails should
consider competing.
What should we expect race day?
Expect
to be WOW'd by the beauty of this forest. Expect to go through
pain. Expect to have a feeling of accomplishment that you
normally do not get from racing. There is no doubt that you
will be pushed, but you will also feel great knowing that you have
just completed the toughest Half or Full Marathon in the State of
Indiana (and maybe even the Midwest).
